Dove Hunt Nebrado Ranch
This past weekend SCI-HOP conducted a Veterans appreciation dove hunt at Nebrado Ranch, in Holyoke, Colorado for the opening day of dove season. Five Veterans and one of their families attended the event hosted by Allen Strong and Nebrado Ranch.

Saturday started with a safety briefing, followed by everyone knocking off the dust off their shotguns on the clay range and proceeding into the dove hunt. By the end of the day, the total was above 20 birds. Saturday night was spent at Mr. Strong’s house where his family and friends pitched in on an amazing dinner incorporating the harvested dove and locally procured Rocky Mountain Oysters.

Sunday held more successful hunting. The crew started early with first shots fired minutes after first legal shooting hours. The fields were full of doves and as time passed, the participants found their leads and the doves piled up. Sunday ended late with a total of more than 35 birds. A huge thanks to Allen Strong and his family for hosting this amazing weekend.
