Wild Pig Hunt in Texas
Vernon Texas and Amy Duncan were hosts to four disabled veterans and two active duty Soldiers for a wild pig hunt over the June 16th weekend. As soon as the Soldiers arrived on Friday night, they were greeted at the local Walmart by employees that anticipated their arrival as arrangements had already been made by the local game warden. When the team arrived at the bunk house they unloaded their gear and went right into an evening pig hunt.

Over the three days of hunting on three different ranches and properties, the team saw jackrabbits, coyotes, and feral hogs. The team was successful in harvesting four hogs along with other small game. Time was also spent enjoying the beautiful Texas landscape, swimming, and making relationships with new friends. The entire weekend was full of experiences that no one will forget. The team was very grateful for the opportunities they had and we look forward to sending more soldiers to future events.
