April ’25 Outing Report

Our April was filled with beautiful weather and meaningful community connection — and we brought a lot of warmth to an otherwise chilly springtime in Colorado.

Clay Mini-Food Sculptures with the
Cottonwood Center for the Arts
Colorado Springs, April 7

Participants: Operation TBI (OTF), VA

We left this art lesson ready to eat! Using colorful clays, our imagination and fine motor skills, we created the most delectable dishes and elaborate culinary spreads – in miniature. Our thanks to the wonderful art instructors at Cottonwood, who always create a fun, dynamic environment to study art and push the bounds of our creativity.

Blacksmithing and Welding with Kilroy‘s Workshop
Colorado Springs, April 19
Participants: OTF, VA

It was another amazing time at Kilroy’s, where participants learn the principles of blacksmithing and welding by tackling a project of their choice. This month’s outing was filled with a great mix of first-time visitors, who forged their first knives, and returning visitors, who picked up where they left off on more advanced projects.

Trap Shooting at Valhalla Hunt Club
Bennett, CO, April 26
Participants: Craig Hospital

Our participants enjoyed a fun day of camaraderie while trap shooting under sunny skies and capping off our time together with a delicious lunch. Our thanks to the staff of Valhalla, which is just 30 minutes east of Denver and features about 500 acres of upland bird habitat that is divided into four hunting fields offering a variety of cover.
