Pheasant and Duck Hunt in Holyoke

January 18th – 19th, 2019
Location: Allen Strong, Holyoke, CO.
Hosted By: River Deep and SCI HOP
Participants: Operation TBI Freedom & Fort Carson Warrior Transition Battalion

The month of January has proven to be a very busy month for SCI HOP, River Deep, Operation TBI Freedom, and Soldiers from the Warrior Transition Battalion of Fort Carson Colorado. Two events have been held in Holyoke, Colorado, courtesy of the generous host Allen Strong along with the support of the local community. Veterans and Soldiers have had multiple hunting opportunities for upland and water fowl. Service Members were successful in harvesting not only pheasants, ducks, and geese, but also coyotes!

The days started early and culminated with an amazing dinner provided by Happy Jacks Barbeque. Everyone involved forged new relationships and bonds that will last beyond the two-day events. The success of the hunts was surpassed by the friendships made and opportunities for future support. Now more than ever, networking for veterans and mentors is increasingly reaching more and more service members in need through the selflessness of communities, hosts, donors and willingness of those who want to give back to our nations Service Members. A huge thank you to everyone involved in making events like this possible, especially Allen, Rudy and Allen from Happy Jacks, as well as to those who participated to make these weekends so memorable
