Art Class - Xmas Ornaments

12/7/2020
Date: Monday, December 7, 2020
Hosted by: River Deep Foundation & Denver SCI HOP
Location: Cottonwood Art Center - Colorado Springs
Participants: Operation TBI Freedom

Art Class - Christmas Ornaments

This is the final art class for the year and we are creating Christmas ornaments and cards. The group of veterans and family member attendees listened to Christmas music and made their festive holiday decorations. Our instructor, Annie Pieper, had a great setup with a bunch of good treats for the kiddos. Due to COVID safety guidelines, the dynamic of the year’s art classes has been a little bit different, but it didn’t stop anyone from enjoying themselves and learning new skills. We are excited to offer this opportunity to more clients and to keep more veterans and their families engaged in life during this especially trying time.

Blacksmithing Class

12/5/2020
Date: Saturday, December 5, 2020
Location: Kilroy’s Workshop, CO Springs
Hosted by: River Deep & SCIHOP
Participants: Operation TBI Freedom

Blacksmithing Class
This weekend we had an amazing time with a group of four veterans learning the fundamentals of blacksmithing. Our Master Blacksmith, Ron Hardman took his time to make sure everyone understood what to expect from the class. First they learned a little bit about the history of blacksmithing. Then came time to learn some skills and put them in practice. Each participant created a knife to take home. We are excited to have this new opportunity for learning and look forward to the next classes.
