Location: Denver Fencing Center Hosted by: River Deep Foundation Participating Groups: Craig Hospital Community Partners and Operation TBI Freedom Fencing Instruction With the weather changing, we have started up more of our indoor activities again, like Fencing instruction! This group of participants had not ever fenced before and were excited to learn. Our instructors started with the teaching the basics to the group. We then suited up and started the friendly competition. Of course, some people are naturally more competitive than others! Either way, fencing is exciting, and a really great workout! A big thanks to everyone at Denver Fencing Center. Saturday, April 3, 2021 Location: Denver Fencing Center Hosted by: River Deep Foundation and SCIHOP Participating Groups: Ft. Carson SRU, Operation TBI Freedom, Craig Hospital This was a first-time fencing experience for our entire group. The always wonderful Denver Fencing Center staff took us through the fundamentals and some drills before outfitting everyone with the proper gear. The drills are fun but also quite a workout and you can see it in everyone’s faces. Next, we are paired up for some casual competition and all matches are scored. Thanks again to the Denver Fencing Center volunteers in all of the participants who came out to learn a new activity! September 14th, 2019 Location: Denver Fencing Center, Denver, CO. Hosted By: River Deep Alliance and SCI HOP Participants: Operation TBI Freedom, Ft. Carson WTB This past Saturday, we were introduced to Fencing at the premier Fencing center in Colorado, the Denver Fencing Center. We started with the proper foot placement and posture, along with the basics of Fencing. We suited up along with our instructor for the day Chris, and proceeded to fence. We then paired up with other participants from our group. Most kept score and everyone had their game faces on! I don't think everyone is really aware of the workout that goes along with Fencing, but it shows in everyones face when the masks come off. Win or loose, it was a lot of fun and very challenging. A big thanks to the Denver Fencing Center. Bob Adwar River Deep Foundation, President SCI HOP, VP/Humanitarian Chairman ![]()
