Location: RMS Gear, Wheatridge, CO Hosted by: River Deep Foundation Participating Groups: Operation TBI, Craig Hospital Archery Instruction Everyone had a fun and informative day learning to use a secure and compound bow. The instructors at RMS Gear began by going over the range rules with the group and then explained the fundamentals of archery. We were then able to practice letting the arrows fly to see how close they could get to the bullseye. After a bit of practice we focused on consistency and how to make the necessary adjustments to improve the accuracy. When lunch arrived everyone was such a good time they have a hard time putting the bows down. A big thanks to all the folks at RMS Gear for making it fun day for everyone! Location: RMS Gear Hosted by: River Deep Foundation Participating Groups: Operation TBI Freedom, Craig Hospital, Ft Carson SRU We had a great group of men, women and children excited to learn archery from the RMS Gear staff. Dr. Joel Bach from the Colorado School of Mines also joined us and brought brand new adaptive archery equipment. The device allows a user to release the arrow using their shoulder and chin. This will be a gamer changer for individuals with disabilities to participate in archery with greater ease. The development of the device was a collaborative effort with our River Deed Foundation, our alliance member, Quality of Life Plus and Colorado School of Mines. The group had a fun day learning archery making friends and sharing a meal. Many thanks to RMS Gear staff and all the volunteers.
