September 21st, 2019 Location: Lincoln Hills Fly Fishing Club, Black Hawk, CO. Hosted By: River Deep Foundation and SCI HOP Participants: Craig Hospital, Operation TBI Freedom & Ft. Carson Warrior Transition Battalion We have a large and enthusiastic group ready to fish the creek and ponds of Lincoln Hills. We start with instruction from our expert guides, after that its time to put the waders on and head to the water. Everyone is having success whether in the creek or the pond, and the trout will all be released for another days' adventure. After a morning of fishing we head to the eco-center deck and enjoyed a delicious barbeque lunch from Jim N' Nicks and traded fish stories. For most of the group, this was their first experience with a fly rod, and everyone had a great day. Thanks to Lincoln Hills, Anglers of Honor, and all the guides and volunteers. September 15th - 19th, 2019 Location: Camp Bullwheel, Ennis, MT. Hosted By: River Deep Foundation and SCI HOP Participants: Operation TBI Freedom & Ft. Carson Warrior Transition Battalion We had Soldiers and Veterans from Ft. Carson’s WTB, and Operation TBI Freedom who all traveled to Ennis, Montana for a Fish & Float Trip on the Madison River. This trip, we had to deal with the weather and the wind. Peter Pauwels and the guides he finds to volunteer with him, were still able to give us an amazing trip even though we only had one full day of fishing on the Madison. On our second day in Montana, we did like tourists do and we explored Ennis and the surrounding area. What a day we had learning about some of Montana’s rich history! Our Third day we found our way up into the mountains, as far as our vehicle would take us, to a spot where we parked so we could hike about half a mile to a small mountain lake. It was a beautiful little lake full of Cut bow trout. Everyone had a great time as we spent the entire day fishing and catching fish, after fish. These trips we do to Montana are absolutely amazing! The folks at Camp Bullwheel really do make this trip worthwhile, everything from the food to the guides and the stories, what a great place to make new friends and lasting memories. September 14th, 2019 Location: Denver Fencing Center, Denver, CO. Hosted By: River Deep Alliance and SCI HOP Participants: Operation TBI Freedom, Ft. Carson WTB This past Saturday, we were introduced to Fencing at the premier Fencing center in Colorado, the Denver Fencing Center. We started with the proper foot placement and posture, along with the basics of Fencing. We suited up along with our instructor for the day Chris, and proceeded to fence. We then paired up with other participants from our group. Most kept score and everyone had their game faces on! I don't think everyone is really aware of the workout that goes along with Fencing, but it shows in everyones face when the masks come off. Win or loose, it was a lot of fun and very challenging. A big thanks to the Denver Fencing Center. Bob Adwar River Deep Foundation, President SCI HOP, VP/Humanitarian Chairman ![]()

September 1, 2019 Location: Valhalla Hunt Club, Bennett, CO. Hosted By: River Deep Foundation and SCI HOP Participants: Operation TBI Freedom & Ft. Carson Warrior Transition Battalion Dove Hunt at Valhalla Hunt Club It's opening day for dove season. We gathered in a grassy field with trees and a pond. We spread out under the trees, which are located close by. The doves flew overhead, some spotted us and veered off. With dove hunting, you have to be quiet and invisible, the doves are small, fast and erratic in their flight pattern. At the end of our morning hunt, we managed a bag of doves, which will be very appreciated around the dinner table. We headed back to the clubhouse for lunch and small talk about the upcoming hunting season. It's been a great day and a big thanks to Valhalla Hunt Club, and Russell and Steph for hosting us.
