Date: August 12-14, 2021 Location: Kremmling, CO Hosted by: River Deep & SCIHOP Participating Groups: Craig Hospital Alumni Colorado River Float Trip and Fly Fishing with Blue Quill Anglers The group of former Craig Hospital patients (AKA Alumni) and the guide, Bob Dye, gathered at the Muddy Creek Cabins in Kremmling, Colorado for a meet and greet and dinner before embarking on the next day's adventure. In the morning, Bob prepared the other guides, boats, and fly rods for the group's scenic float trip down the Colorado River. The morning was nice and cool— a wonderful way to start the day! The river was calm and peaceful and the group was even able to catch some trout on the first day! The boats pulled onto a sand bank off the river to enjoy lunch together. After lunch, the group got back on the river, excited to catch more fish. At the end of the day we made it to the cabins for the night and the group shared their experiences on the river and talked about catching trout. It was a fun, relaxing trip for all who attended! A big thank you to Bob Dye, the guides, the volunteers, and Blue Quill Anglers! Date: August 10, 2021 Location: USAFA Equestrian Center Hosted by: River Deep & SCIHOP Participating Groups: Operation TBI Freedom Equine Assisted Learning It was another great day at the Air Force Academy with an amazing group of veterans and their family members learning more about equine therapy. During today's outing, we focused on how to perform exercises to cope with stress. Every veteran had the time to share how they felt before and after their equine session. We even had one veteran overcome his fear of being around and riding horses. Now, he can’t wait to come to equine therapy again! We finished our outing with a nice hour of horseback riding through three water crossings. It was a day filled with excitement and relaxation.
