June 15th - 19th, 2019 Location: Camp BullWheel, Ennis, MT. Hosted By: River Deep Alliance and SCI HOP Participants: Operation TBI Freedom & Ft. Carson WTB We had soliders and Veterans from Ft. Carson and Operation TBI who floated on the Madison River, which is challenging this time of the year because of the run-off. Fortunately, Peter Pauwels and the Camp BullWheel guides know the river and where the fish are. We were on the river for three days in search of trout. The rest of the time we were treated to good food and conversation at Camp BullWheel. The Montana trip was amazing! The people at Camp BullWheel had the best hospitality around. The town itself was a small county town, it was friendly and easy to navigate. Our favorite place to get souvenirs and drinks was Willie's Distillery. This was also a Veteran-ran business which made our guys feel right at home. Our trip was full of good times and great stories, with new life-long friends made. A big thanks to all the great people and guides at Camp BullWheel. Justin Hudson River Deep Alliance Bob Adwar River Deep Alliance, President SCI HOP, VP/Humanitarian Chairman ![]()

June 15, 2019 Location: Lincoln Hills, Blackhawk, CO. Hosted By: River Deep Alliance and SCI HOP Participants: Craig Hospital, Operation TBI Freedom, Ft. Carson WTB Anglers of Honor at Lincoln Hills The river is running high and fast and the weather forecast predicted rain, so it's going to be a challenging day in the mountains, but no one seems to be worried. Everyone is at Lincoln Hills to fly fish, learn, and have a fun time. We started the morning with the fundamentals of fly fishing, next will be reviewing the gear, waiters and then pairing up with the guides. Some of the group will be fishing on the river and some will fish the ponds. The trout ended up in the nets and are released for another day. Everyone is having a wonderful time learning and fishing. Even a brief rain shower is ignored. It's time for lunch and we are having some great BBQ brought to us at Lincoln Hills by Jim N' Nick's BBQ. It's been a great day and a big thanks to all the Anglers of Honor Guides and all the volunteers. Bob Adwar River Deep Alliance, President SCI HOP, VP/Humanitarian Chairman ![]()

Hosted By: River Deep Alliance & Denver SCI HOP Participants: Craig Hospital, Operation TBI Freedom, Ft. Carson WTB Equine Therapy Last week, the River Deep Alliance and Denver SCI HOP held the second Equine assisted learning/ Recreational Therapy, and it was so much fun. We had 10 veterans and 2 family members attend. We had the opportunity to learn more about the Equine assisted learning and see how beneficial working with horses can help with our PTSD and TBI's. After spending some time grooming the horses and learning, we saddled up for a nice long trail ride. June 8, 2019 Location: Denver Fencing Center, Denver, Colorado Hosted By: River Deep Alliance and SCI HOP Participants: Craig Hospital and Operation TBI Freedom Last Saturday we had a group of adults and children for our fencing class at the Denver Fencing Center. The instructors gathered everyone together and began with the basic instructions. After that, we suited up, and the fencing matches started. The scoreboard was turned on, which added more incentive for the fencers. It's a workout, but everyone is having a great time. A big thanks to the staff at the Denver Fencing Center and volunteers. Texas Wild Pig Hunt - June 7-10, 2019 Location: Vernon, Texas Hosted By: River Deep Alliance and SCI HOP Participants: Craig Hospital and Operation TBI Freedom What a weekend we had stalking and hunting wild pigs in Vernon, Texas! We arrived in Vernon Friday evening and couldn’t wait to get out and start stalking the wild pigs. Our first veteran was able to take down a 130 lb. sow, shortly before dark. The weather during the late afternoon and early mornings was ideal for being out in the Texas heat. Early Saturday morning, after breaking up into two groups, we headed out into the brush to do some more spotting and stalking. Shortly before noon, our second veteran was able to take a 150 lb. boar. That evening wasn’t as fruitful but everyone had a good time sneaking through the brush. Sunday, our last day, we headed out at the crack of dawn to get jump on the day and hopefully a couple pigs for our remaining veterans. We started out early Sunday morning, and by the evening, the hunt is a bust for our group, but a great time was had by all. A huge thank you to our host, Amy Duncan, and her to guides Zach and Andrew who helped our veterans all weekend with the hunt.
