The group was first introduced to the basics and what to expect before we went into to the pool. Each person worked one-on-one with an instructor. The expert staff at Denver Adaptive Divers is dedicated to making sure each everyone is safe, first and foremost but also having a good time while learning new skills. In talking with the veterans who came today, they are all interested in continuing on to the next level of instruction. I look forward to meeting with the staff at DAD to better understand the health healing aspects of SCUBA. We are thrilled to have this new partnership and to open up this new opportunity for our clients. Date: April 17, 2021 Location: Kilroy's Workshop Hosted by: River Deep Foundation and Denver SCIHOP Participating groups: Operation TBI Freedom and Fort Carson SRU Another amazing time with a group of four veterans learning the fundamentals of blacksmithing this weekend. We also had the opportunity to meet a group of soldiers from Fort Carson. Our Master Blacksmith, Ron Hardman took his time to make sure everyone understood what to expect from the class. First they learned a little bit about the history of blacksmithing. Then came time to learn some skills and put them in practice. Each participant created a knife to take home. Everyone had a wonderful time. Jesus Guerra, CBIS Military Support Specialist, Operation TBI Freedom Bob Adwar President, River Deep Foundation VP/Humanitarian Outreach Chairman, Denver SCI ![]()

Saturday, April 3, 2021 Location: Denver Fencing Center Hosted by: River Deep Foundation and SCIHOP Participating Groups: Ft. Carson SRU, Operation TBI Freedom, Craig Hospital This was a first-time fencing experience for our entire group. The always wonderful Denver Fencing Center staff took us through the fundamentals and some drills before outfitting everyone with the proper gear.
